Extrajudicial Activities

Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor has certainly kept herself busy since her departure from the Court early this year. As the only female member of the Iraq Study Group, Justice O’Connor spent the last nine months working with her colleagues on the bipartisan commission to formulate policy recommendations on Iraq for the Bush administration. This week she’s made several media appearances to discuss the group’s newly released report. Considering how sparse the high court’s docket has been lately, it seems like Justice O’Connor would have had significantly more relaxation time if she hadn’t retired.
