Wallace Hearing Likely in Late September

The Clarion-Ledger (Jackson, Miss.) reports that Judiciary Committee chair Arlen Specter (R-PA) is planning a hearing on Fifth Circuit nominee Michael Wallace on either September 19 or 26, depending on the availability of certain witnesses. According to The Clarion-Ledger, the Committee will question an ABA representative concerning its rare unanimous not-qualified rating of Wallace, which was based on several factors, including Wallace’s lack of tolerance and hostility to minority rights.
