Where oh where have the nominees gone?

We are continuing to wait and see whom President Bush will nominate to fill several vacancies on the Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeals. So far in the first three months of 2007, the president has nominated one new circuit court judge in the Fifth Circuit and has submitted no new nominees for vacancies on other circuits, including the Fourth. Obviously we aren’t the only ones wondering about this. There have been a number of rumors about who the new nominees are likely to be. This week, the South Carolina Appellate Law Blog, which covers happenings in the South Carolina courts and legal community, including the Fourth Circuit, jumped into the fray. They reported on possible nominees to fill the South Carolina Fourth Circuit seat and why there has been such a long delay. According to the blog, a few names have been proposed, but there may be a dispute between the president and home state Senator Lindsey Graham about who should get the nomination.
