Judicial emergencies: “graphic evidence” of the scope of the problem

The fight to ensure that there is a judge for every vacancy on the federal courts long has been at the heart of AFJ’s advocacy.  That’s why we devote so much effort to tracking where the problems are worst – and putting pressure on Congress to stop the stalling.

AFJ tracks every vacancy for every lifetime federal judgeship.  We pay particular attention to where the delays are worst – vacancies that have been declared “judicial emergencies” by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.

Now, we have a new resource – color coded maps tracking the extent of the problem in every state.  How bad is the problem in your state? Find out here.  Then use our other resources to get the details.
