Southwick Vote Postponed

The Senate Judiciary Committee did not vote on Judge Leslie Southwick's nomination today and will likely do so next week. The groups that have officially opposed Judge Southwick include: ADA Watch, AFL-CIO, African-American Bar Association of Dallas, AFSCME, Americans for Democratic Action, Black Leadership Forum, Californians for Fair and Independent Judges, Congressional Black Caucus, Equal Justice Society (California), Feminist Majority, Human Rights Campaign, Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Magnolia Bar Association, Mississippi NAACP, NAACP, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, National Council of Jewish Women, National Employment Lawyers Association, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, National Fair Housing Alliance, National Organization for Women, National Urban League, Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), People For the American Way, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, Rhode Island Minority Caucus, SEIU, Senator Barack Obama, Society of American Law Teachers, and Working Assets.
