California Here We Come

In last week's Executive Business Meeting, the Senate Judiciary Committee reported favorably on a measure proposed by Senator Kyl (R-AZ) and supported by Senator Feinstein (D-CA), which would move the vacant 12th seat on the D.C. Circuit to the 9th Circuit, where judges handle caseloads far higher than those of D.C. Circuit judges . It is not clear to which state this new 9th Circuit seat will be assigned, although Feinstein’s support suggests perhaps it will be California.
