Running Out of Steam
In yesterday’s National Review, Byron York asked, “Why Hasn’t the GOP Made Judges an Issue?” this campaign season. Bemoaning the lack of discussion about what he calls “the single issue dearest to the heart of the Republican base,” York seems to fear that ultraconservatives’ chances of succeeding in their plan to transform the law by transforming the courts are dwindling in the current political climate. Frankly, we hope he’s right.
