Busy Day for Judiciary Committee

Senator Specter has scheduled a special Executive Business Meeting of the Judiciary Committee tomorrow "immediately following the first roll call vote at a location to be determined off the Senate floor for the consideration of judicial nominees." Reports are that the Committee will consider the nominations of Kent Jordan (3rd Circuit) and Peter Keisler (D.C. Circuit). It is likely, however, that votes on both nominees will be held over to the following week.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will also hold a hearing tomorrow at 3 p.m. on three nominees to the district court for the Western District of Michigan – Robert Jonker, Paul Maloney and Janet Neff – and one nominee, Leslie Southwick, to the district court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
