Fourth Circuit to Rehear Soccer Coach Sex Harassment Case

Remember soccer coach Anson Dorrance (originator of such motivational talk as "who are you fucking;" “nice racks;” "[are you] going to have sex with the entire lacrosse team;” “keep your knees together; you can’t make it too easy for them"; and "[did you get the guys'] names as they came to the door or just take a number.”)? Well, Melissa Jennings, one of the players who accused him of sexual harassment, may get her day in court yet. The Fourth Circuit has agreed to rehearing en banc, raising the possibility that the full complement of the court’s judges will vote to reverse the panel decision of Judges Karen Williams and James Dever to throw out the case without giving Ms. Jennings a trial. If that were to happen, it would be the second time in recent years that the full court took the extraordinary step of intervening to reverse Judge Williams’ judgment against an alleged sexual harassment victim.
